Art is a place for children to learn to trust their ideas, themselves, and to explore what is possible. — MaryAnn F. Kohl
After-School Program · Grades K–5

Craft Headz

Where kids turn glue sticks, paint, and imagination into something they're proud of — for schools, parties, and everywhere in between.

Who We Are

Big creativity, small hands welcome

Craft Headz is an after-school arts and crafts program built for students in grades K–5th. We give kids a hands-on space to paint, cut, glue, build, and create — no screens, no worksheets, just real materials and real projects.

We provide a creative, reliable outlet for students right after dismissal — a consistent, welcoming space they can count on every week.

Every session is led by our program staff and designed around a new theme, so kids leave with a finished project and a little more confidence in what they can make.

Why It Matters

Why arts & crafts matter for kids

Hands-on creative time isn't just fun — it plays a real role in how children grow, think, and feel about themselves.

Creativity & Imagination

Open-ended projects give kids room to make their own choices and dream up original ideas.

Cognitive Growth

Planning a project, solving problems, and following steps builds thinking skills that carry over into the classroom.

Communication & Expression

Art gives kids a way to communicate feelings and ideas they may not yet have the words for.

Confidence & Independence

Finishing a project they made themselves gives kids a real sense of pride and ownership.

Focus & Patience

Working through a project step by step builds attention span and the patience to see things through.

Connection to History

Learning about artists, cultures, and art movements connects kids to history and the wider world.

Emotional Well-Being

Creative, hands-on time gives kids a calming, positive outlet that supports their overall emotional well-being.

Observation Skills

Studying shapes, colors, and details to recreate them sharpens how closely kids observe the world around them.

Opens Doors to Careers

Early exposure to art can spark a lifelong interest — and even point toward future careers in creative fields.

Craft Headz provides engaging after-school art experiences that inspire creativity, build confidence, and encourage critical thinking in elementary students.

Each week, students complete fun, hands-on arts and crafts projects while developing fine motor skills, teamwork, and self-expression in a positive environment.

Our program is designed to be easy for schools — we provide the curriculum, supplies, and instruction, allowing your staff to focus on supporting students while we create memorable enrichment experiences.

Program Benefits

Small hands, big skills

Every project is designed with development in mind — our activities focus heavily on building fine motor coordination through age-appropriate tools and hands-on practice.

Scissor Skills

Age-appropriate scissors build cutting control, precision, and confidence.

Clay Molding

Rolling, pinching, and shaping clay strengthens little hands and finger dexterity.

Guided Brush Control

Hands-on guidance helps kids master grip, pressure, and steady brush strokes.

Tactile Exploration

Hands-on materials build sensory awareness alongside fine motor development.

Curriculum

K–2nd Crafts & Making Curriculum

Weeks 1–3

Nature & Eco Crafts (Upcycled Materials)

Kids explore natural materials and everyday recyclables, turning them into their first Craft Headz creations.

  • Week 1 — Picasso Faces

Students learn about Pablo Picasso and Cubism, exploring shapes, lines, and color. Each student creates a unique portrait using recycled materials — an "all about me" self-portrait made with cardboard pieces, glue, and paint.

  • Week 2 — Aboriginal-Inspired Art

Inspired by Aboriginal art, students create a piece depicting their home using popsicle sticks and dot painting — exploring pattern, repetition, color, and symbolism along the way.

Weeks 4–6

Wearable Crafts & Textiles

Kids design and make their own wearable creations, building comfort with fabric, texture, and simple textile techniques.
